DEJA are haxx and Rromarin; future-pop duo based in Melbourne, Australia. A project born over three years ago and raised in a series of home studios, DEJA is the fusion of digital and organic, a musical brainchild forged from progressive production and diverse sounds.
Over the course of 2011-12 the pair brought their music to radio and the live stage, gaining attention from audiences across the country and around the globe. Weaving their unique brand of home spun beats and synths, washed with layers of boy-girl vocals, the pair explore all realms of their sonic world. With vivid sounds ranging from lush, dark psychedelia to frenetic dance to crystalline pop, DEJA's music sits on the fringe and takes listeners on an eclectic and ever-evolving journey.
'Still Falling' is the bands first release of 2013 and the next taste of what these young producers have to offer from their forthcoming EP.
Here’s a little insight into an upcoming track that we’ve been working on in the studio. A glimpse into our workflow & ever charming musical relationship (not).

Had a mad band practice today in the lead up to our single launch. It’s this Friday and it would mean the world to us if you could make it down. The super rad Polo Club are supporting and Broadway Sounds DJ’s will be dropping some big tunes. It’s at the Grace Darling Hotel. Hope to see you there! xx
Rromarin recently did a rad interview with Moustache Magazine which you can read here
“But then the next two singles will be like coming full circle, coming back to the crisper, more upbeat, dancey sound but we’ll be going back to my female vocals. By the time they’re all out it will be this little journey which is what we want. We don’t want to write songs that sound the same and I don’t think we could if we tried. I mean, we’re not signed or anything but I can imagine that would stress labels out if we released singles that sounded completely different all the time. But why the fuck not? That’s the whole the point of what we do, we want to push the boundaries and experiment with everything. So many musicians are learning how to produce and record their own music, and there’s so much more freedom that you don’t need to adhere to the typical structures in place. That’s our vibe, we just do what we want really and we want to redefine the model.”
Our next single ‘Still Falling’. We hope you like it!!

We’re thinking we might release our new single ‘Still Falling’ next Monday. You guys keen? #notanaprilfoolsdayjoke
Here’s another glimpse into some behind the scenes action - Claire and Zach on their adventure to scout locations for our ‘Holiday’ music video.
So excited about this mini tour we’re organising. Our new set is sounding really good and we’re very excited to share it with you. Got some super cool new songs you won’t have heard before and of course playing the three tracks we’ve already released.
And then there’s the new track you haven’t heard yet - ‘Still Falling’. Pretty proud of this one. Definitely a dope slow jam and our personal favourite release so far.
If you’ve been listening to our music it would mean the world if you could make it to a show this time around.
Tour dates will be out soon.
Hopefully see you then!
